A letter from the CSC Board of Directors
Hi all -
Hard to believe, but one year ago Cleveland Solar Cooperative was just a tiny idea in our hearts :) Now we’re a member-owned enterprise on the verge of launching our first community-owned solar array! We have a lot to celebrate!
Let’s celebrate CSC’s first birthday with a masked, socially distanced Member Owner Meeting on Saturday, May 22nd from 2–4 pm at Edgewater Park!
We understand some folks may not feel ready to meet in person, no matter the precautions. That makes sense!
We’ll also livestream this event so those who are unable to join us in person will be able to take part in the festivities and vote in our Board Elections.
Please RSVP by Monday, May 17 by responding to this email. Friends and family are welcome!
Calling for CSC Board Nominations
On May 22 we’ll also hold elections for two new Board seats, since the one-year terms of two of our esteemed board members, Kim and Will, expire May 24. They’ve done incredible work on the board. I’d say we’ll miss them, but they’re both planning to continue participating in CSC as Member Owners (yay!).
So we are officially accepting applications for their replacements as Membership Director and Communications Director. You can apply or nominate a Member Owner for these positions
at this link. The deadline is May 1. More information about the roles is below.
Please feel free to reach out with questions about the positions or what it means to serve on the board of Cleveland Solar Cooperative.
Regards,
The CSC Board

What follows is general info about the available board seats.
For complete information about CSC's Board of Directors, see the bylaws, slides 18-22.
Both available seats are "at-large” - this means they carry 1-year terms and do not represent a project group.
General information about the Board - The primary role of the Board is to create and oversee a system of decentralized, participatory, and inclusive governance and operations. In other words, the Board generally stewards the process by which work is carried out, as opposed to directing the substance of the work. The Board will provide ongoing oversight of the activities and internal functioning of the Cooperative.
Communications Director - Also serves as Secretary. Responsible for meeting notes, public relations, digital communications and brand. This person updates our website and Facebook and Instagram accounts and sends out occasional emails to Member Owners.
Membership Director - Responsible for membership outreach and engagement. This person speaks with people interested in our mission. They help new Member Owns get plugged in at CSC, and help Member Owners stay connected to one another through events, phone calls, and one-on-one meetings.
